I am interested in the family of James edward Curran. I think that James may have been born in Northern Ireland 2nd June 1896 .he married Sarah kerr at kilmarnock in December 1919.. they were both employed in the insurance business. I have not been able to trace their movements in any census. I am hoping someone is familiar with this family, thanking you STOOP.

Have you viewed the marriage certificate at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk? Who were his parents and how old did he say he was?

James Edward Curran, son of James Curran, sailor, Strangford, and Mary McDonald, was born on 2 June 1896 at Strangford, registered in Downpatrick. You can view a copy of the certificate at https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/ but you'll need to check the marriage to be sure that he's the right person.

James Edward Curran, age 4, born Co Down, is in the 1901 census in Killyleagh, Co Down, described as adopted son of James Caffrey.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
