Rostern family!
« on: Tuesday 02 July 24 22:12 BST (UK) »
I’m trying to find any information into James & Esther Rostern.

All I know is that they have a daughter Nancy  baptized on 26 June 1774 in Ringley Lancastershire.

James Rostern married Esther Eckersley on 19th April 1774 Eccles.

I notice that daughter Nancy's baptism has her parents as James and Esther ROSTHERN. James is a collier, of Clifton.

Here are James and John Rosthern, in King's Bench, for a debt incurred at Prescot in 1773.

Timothy Heys "puts in his place" (hires to represent him) Henry Townley Ward as his attorney against James Rosthern and John Rosthern in a plea of trespass on the case (cases involving negligence and breach of contract (assumpsit).

James and John on 20 November 1773, at Prescott, Lancs, were indebted to Timothy in 40 pounds for divers goods and undertook to pay him. (This is indebitatus assumpsit, an implied undertaking to repay a debt).
