British lady buried in Hannover
« on: Sunday 30 June 24 16:16 BST (UK) »
Hello everyone,

I want to get a death certificate for a British lady buried in a German cemetery and not sure of the best way to go about it.

She is a civilian buried in:
Hannover Military Cemetery which is also known as
British Military Cemetery Limmer,
Seelze, Region Hannover, Lower Saxony, Germany

Any help/tips would be appreciated.

Thank you  :)

Have you looked to see whether the death is mentioned on the GRO overseas deaths indexes.

Have you checked FindMyPast yet?
There are some 1960s death indices in Hanover.

FindMyPast appear to have a database for British Nationals who died overseas  1818 - 2005.  Are you prepared to give a name in case someone can find something for you.

There is a record for her on FindMyPast in the GRO Service Departments Death Indices (1956 To 1965) collection.

Age: 26

Place/Vessel: Biel Efeld

Archive reference DSRV

Here's how to order Overseas records from the GRO:

TIP: Select "Event Registered Outside UK" when placing the order.
