i'm looking for any information regarding the Palais band from Inverness who played in and around the area in the 1920's '30's and possibly the 1940's. They appear in many newspaper reports about Fetes in the Islands and various venues around the Highlands and Moray under different names. Inverness Palais Band, Palais Band of Inverness, Palais orchestra, Inverness etc. They all have one thing in common however, they were all led by or under Miss H.Macpherson. This is Joanna Margaret Dorothy Macpherson otherwise known as Hetty.(My grandfather's cousin). Hetty was well known in Inverness as she had a newsagent store on Castle Street for many years.
What I'm looking for is any photos, flyers or any images relating to the band or these events as I am trying to discover who else was in the band with Hetty as there maybe a connection with a family friend who believes their relative was also in the band with Hetty.
