Christopher Walls, died 1863 - GRO have the age as 0.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Hi
Just add this was the chap convicted of stealing in 1847 who had his 7 years transportation commuted.Lovely petition by his father and employer Chambers Day.
Alive 3.2.1848 when he pardoned on medical grounds.
So info after 1848 might help.
ps
Just got him. Christening and census as Christopher Ward.
burial 30.9.1860 age 29 Christopher Ward of Belbarn Road Birmingham St Mary

Ciderdrinker, Good Morning,

Thank you for your message.

Sadly, Mr WARD seemingly ignored the prison experience for within six months of his Free Pardon he was enjoying another period of transportation, this time for 10 years ::)   He was convicted on 03/08/1848 for larceny from the person under the alias of George WILLIAMS.   However, on 19/10/1853 he was given a Ticket of Leave (early release).   On both occasions his release was qualified by the notation "on medical grounds".

These medical grounds very much anticipate his premature death in September 1860 if your information is correct.   I have failed to unearth the details and I would be grateful, if at all possible, you could confirm the source/reference please.   But thank you for answering my outstanding question "Whatever happened to him??".

For the moment,

BAC3

Good Morning
Thank you for your reply and more details of what happened to Christopher in the intervening years.
The details of his burial are on both Ancestry and FindMyPast. I've seen an image of the page of St Mary's burial record on Ancestry .
Hopefully it is the same man and you now know what happened to him.

Ciderdrinker,

I must have had a "senior moment" (frequent these days!!) as I had already noted, but not copied, the Ancestry/FindMyPast references.   Possibly lost my way in the maze of his aliases:  WALL to WARD to WILLIAMS.

Thank you:  All's well that ends well.
