Sadly, Mr WARD seemingly ignored the prison experience for within six months of his Free Pardon he was enjoying another period of transportation, this time for 10 years

He was convicted on 03/08/1848 for larceny from the person under the alias of George WILLIAMS. However, on 19/10/1853 he was given a Ticket of Leave (early release). On both occasions his release was qualified by the notation "on medical grounds".
These medical grounds very much anticipate his premature death in September 1860 if your information is correct. I have failed to unearth the details and I would be grateful, if at all possible, you could confirm the source/reference please. But thank you for answering my outstanding question "Whatever happened to him??".
