Thomas William Brown was born in 1819. He was the son of Henry Brown and Frances Hibbit. Henry was the chief steward of George Finch Esq of Burley-on-the-Hill Mansion, the Earl of Winchilsea & Earl of Nottingham.
Thomas joined the 58th Rutlandshire Regiment. Is there any records on his time in the Regiment? I know that the Regiment escorted convict ships (Blundell, Agincourt & Lord Aukland) to Australia in 1844 before moving onto New Zealand for 14 years. Thomas along with others from the Regiment chose to leave the Regiment & remain in Australia.
I don't know when Thomas actually joined the Regiment so would like more information about this & what he did before this. I would also like anymore information about his parents.
Thanks
