Dorset Family History Society's Online Zoom Monthly Meeting
« on: Tuesday 11 June 24 19:54 BST (UK) »

Tuesday 25th June 2024, 7.30pm-9.00pm  (Zoom sign-in from 7.15pm)

As an additional talk Dorset Family History Society will be hosting an online Zoom meeting talk entitled 'Searching for Ancestors when you are Adopted’ by Dr Penny Walters.

Have you ever found your “real” family? This talk discusses the excitement, pain and problems for an adoptee looking for relatives and researching ancestors. Collaborating with DNA matches can be a key solution.

Dorset FHS welcomes Dr Penny Walters, a University lecturer in Psychology and Business studies, back for a third time. Adoptee Penny lectures internationally about genealogy topics and regularly writes for Family Tree magazine. She has published two books “Ethical Dilemmas in Genealogy” and “The Psychology of Searching”.

Society Members who have consented to receive information by e-mail will find a meeting invitation link, and how to donate the £3 admission, in the E-News sent about 4 days before the meeting.

Those who do not receive E-News, or who are not Society Members, are welcome to join this meeting and should follow the link on the website www.dorsetfhs.org.uk or email liaison@dorsetfhs.org.uk to request an invitation link at least 6 hours before the meeting is due to start. A donation of £3 paid via the website on the Society shop would be most appreciated.
