I just guessed that this might be the death record for Sarah, just because her son Walter had a St Albans connection.

JOHNSON, SARAH  ALICE  age 73; GRO Reference: 1953  S Quarter in ST. ALBANS  Volume 04B  Page 132

For info.

19 August 1954 Sunderland Daily Echo & Shipping Gazette

In Memoriam
JOHNSON - In loving memory of my dear wife Sally Lobban, who died August 15th 1953.
Ever remembered by her loving husband, Joseph Brockbanks Johnson, son Walter, Ethel & family (St Albans).
R.I.P

Possible death for Sarah’s husband
JOHNSON Joseph B age 76 Mar 1959 St.Albans 4b 258

1913 burial of Isabella Lobban, aged 55
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSJW-J9CV-R
this record puzzled me as she's billed as 'wife of Walter' but I think this was an error in the register - maybe Walter, her son, registered the death and arranged the funeral?
can't see a death/funeral notice in the newspapers for her, but  the following year were In Memoriam notices which confirm she was wife of Alexander and mother of Walter

Sunderland Daily Echo and Shipping Gazette
07 Jul 1914, page 5 col 1

In Memoriam
[..]
LOBBAN - In loving memory of our dear mother, died July 7th 1913. A day of remembrance, sad to recall. Ever remembered by Jim and Sally

LOBBAN - In loving memory of Isabella Lobban, beloved wife of Alex. Lobban, who died July 7th, 1913. Ever remembered by her loving husband

LOBBAN - In loving memory of my dear mother, who died July 7th 1913. Loved in life, remembered in death. Ever remembered by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Gussie, and grandchildren.

1918 burial of Alexander Lobban, age 76, joiner

1921 burial of Robert Smith Lobban, son of Sarah Lobban
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSJW-LXH?i
address matches 1921 census for Sarah Alice, widow of James Lobban who was KIA in 1918.
This little boy's age at death means he can't have been James' child.

Here is the GRO birth record for Robert Smith Lobban:
LOBBAN, ROBERT  SMITH  mother SMITH
GRO Reference: 1920  S Quarter in SUNDERLAND  Volume 10A  Page 1510
Another mystery regarding the father.

I am satisfied WE have the correct information for Isabella Lobban née Smith 1857-1913. Thanks for finding that, Boo.

Various trees have Joseph B Johnson dying in Q Sept 1948, but that can't be true and there is no more detail. The St Albans record looks credible and there is a Q March 1959 Northumberland Central death which could also be JBJ.

We have got some great information from this post.
I am going with the Q March 1959 death record in St Albans for Joseph Brockbanks Johnson until I hear differently. No other public trees have credible information.
Thanks for your help everybody.
