« on: Monday 10 June 24 13:29 BST (UK) »
Hello everyone
trying to track down a marriage between a Francis Bentley and a Margaret or (Mary as she was known) in the Middlesbrough area. I dont have much to go on hence the ? I have tried searching on Ancestry. Their son Henry was born in 1933 and on his marriage certificate it states Francis was a merchant seaman but I cant find anything on him neither, Francis was deceased at the time of sons marriage thats all ive got.
Thanks Kim

Buy the 1933birth certificate.  Is the 1933 child redacted in 1939?

Is the son born 1933 still alive, if so, his name should not be mentioned, due to rootschat policy of not naming living people.
If you use FreeBMD you should be able to see the maiden name of the son's mother.

Is Henry the same Henry Bentley whose birth was recorded in Middlesbrough RD in June quarter 1933?  If so then mother's maiden name is given as Jones.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Free BMD shows an Ethel Ann Bentley b 1921 with mother's maiden name Jones in Middlesbrough. Marriage might be around 1920.

I think Francis / Frank Bentley might have had a sister also called Ethel, who married Edgar Hopkinson Schofield. If so their father was Charles Bentley
