I think we nee a re-cap.
We have from the obit. Alex. Broadfoot at 134 Langlands Rd.
Father James Deceased mother Isabella nee Telfer
16247 James Broadfoot had parents James & Isabella.
It must be him that lived at 134 Langlands Rd not 2973 James Broadfoot.
Mother Isabella received his War Gratuity indicating his father James was dead.
Annie Taylor lived at the other address which is the same as the childs birth.
Just looked at the available info from the ledger & it says 16247 James
had mother Broadfoot who had a Guardian A.Taylor!
2973 James had the middle name Telfer no other info.
Good grief.

This should be fairly straightforward:

16247 James Broadfoot was from the Edinburgh/Musselburgh area and was presumed killed in September 1915.  I don't see any Glasgow addresses. Parents James and Isabella

2973 James Telfer Broadfoot was from Glasgow (Govan), discharged sick in 1916, died in 1952. Parents Alexander and Isabella nee Telfer. 134 Langlands Road, Govan. He must surely be the father of the illegitimate Taylor child

The bit that's confusing as Jim mentioned is the "Guardian Miss Annie Taylor" that's listed on the pension index card for 16247 - a mistake by the War Office perhaps - entering it on the wrong card?
