Was Walker her married name?

If you are researching her Scottish ancestry you would need to know her maiden name

Hello Carol
Unfortunately I don't know her maiden name or if this is her maiden name, was hoping to find her death entry but their appears to be none.
I do find a Joseph Walker living in St Lawrence on the electrol Rolls of 1903 and 1905,if they were connected I don't know.Thankyou Judy

"she was well know in Rockhampton"

Can you expand on this. In what capacity was Martha a familiar name in Rockhampton......civic matters?....... charity work?........ association with her church?.....and when?

What is the earliest connection you see for Martha and Rockhampton?.

I am only going on her death notice in a Rockhampton paper in Trove saying she was well known in Rockhampton. I wish I knew more info.

If the only information you have about Martha Walker is the death notice, and the inscription on the headstone.........what is your interest in her?

I have researched all the old peoples graves in our small little cemetery for a project in our town and Martha is the only one that nothing can be found on her. Why would her death be not recorded or  has she been missed by the people who transcribed the documents.  Is there away of finding out if she has been missed out?

Thank you for this good information. It helps to have some context to your enquiry.

Martha might have used the name WALKER, but have another name?  Just a possible line to follow...

Using QLD BDM for Martha   died December 1878  finds -

EATES  Martha   died 11 Dec 1878   ps.  Joseph EATES / Evaline STACHEL    1878/C/263

where ...."C"......is country area......
