Hi oz kim,

I don't have the answer to your question, but if you have a look at:

__www.bt.com

and "Find a person" there are still a few Dines in Killinchy. Perhaps they could help.

Regards,

bobed

Hello

Thats great, maybe we're related somewhere down the track. Was Dines a common name in Killinchy in the mid 1800's.

Actually, Margaret Dines, born in Killinchy 1839, was my husbands G G Grandmother.

In the meantime there are GEDDES to be found here:

For every ancestor I find , I have to find two more.

Hi Debi

Thanks for these sites, I would appreciate any help I can get. I have nothing on this family prior to their arrival in Australia.
Most of the immigration records for Queensland, which is where the family first settled were lost in the Brisbane floods.

I only have Margaret's death record which gives her parents as Hugh Dines & Margaret ? and of course this information was provided by her 2nd husband so I don't know how acurate it is.

Thanks Everyone for all your help.

I've just received a copy of Margaret George's (nee Dines) 2nd marriage.

It gives her parents names as George Dines (Bailiff) & Mary Hennesy.

The information on her death cert giving her parents as Hugh Dines & Margaret was provided by her 2nd husband. Heaven knows where he got his info.

So I am now looking for a marriage for George Dines & Mary Hennesy & any children they may have had along with Margaret in 1841.
