I've stumbled across an image on Ancestry of a person of interest!
The name is James Faulkner b. 1818. The image and that of his family appear to be of an early photograph reproduced in a magazine. The image used on ancestry is (according to the picture owner) lifted from a poor photocopy of the article.
So a couple of questions-
(Before I contact them myself) does the Federation of Family History Societies hold copies of their old publications or even the British Library (whose online catalogue is still in recovery mode) dating back to 1983?
Does anyone have a back copy of the Christmas 1983 edition (!)? I would love to see the original article, context, and image used.
