Use the 'sort' option to switch between shared dna & most recent as needed.

Thanks, I hadn't spotted that.

In this new version I have 32 new coloured squares to allocate to groups. Before the upgrade I had allocated 17 groups which, of course, are still there. I have not upgraded to ProTools so the new groups appear to be a part of the upgrade.

There seems to be a glitch at the minute (nothing new when Ancestry roll out changes), whilst there are 32 squares it's still only possible to create 24 groups and some people are reporting they can't  delete existing groups.

Protools is still playing up for some people too (myself included), some people see me estimated as the uncle and others as the grandfather to my half sibling when they click on my name, when they click on her name they see the other relationship, nobody is getting a prediction of half sibling.

Ha. Knew there would be a catch. So extra groups only come with ProTools subscription. I wonder what happens if you pay for a month sub, create more than 24 groups, and then cancel sub.

I now can't find how to search messages. Search box has disappeared.

No its only possible for anyone, pro tools or not, to create 24 groups although there are 32 colours.

I do like the changes to the revised Grouping feature.

I have just spent a couple of hours creating 8 Groups labelled “1 GGP through to 8 GGP” so they each show as the applicable number, each of which refers to one of my Great Grandparents.

I then went through my 120 DNA Matches who are linked into my Family Tree and assigned the applicable Group(s) to each of the DNA Matches.

The results show that I have DNA links to and beyond each of my 8 Great Grandparents so I’m happy that my Family Tree has no NPE’s in my recent past.

Whilst i don't yet have the update on the main match list, i don have the pro-tools so can see the new version on shared matches.  I have there done something very similar but using my 16 great (x2) grandparents, saving the other groups for markers to show if i have processed the match or not, and if i have a double relationship. This has been a great help in identify which line other matchs are linked to, if they have a shared match that is already linked.

I assume they dropped that from the pro tools sub then. Pretty sure they suggested they would be increasing the number of groups available in their promo before it was released. Increasing colours while retaining 24 maximum seems worthless to me.

Maybe increasing group numbers is for a future rollout.
