Burial - St Mary's Andover
« on: Tuesday 28 May 24 17:04 BST (UK) »
I am trying to track down where my paternal grandfather is buried and wonder if anyone could have a look at the burial records held at the Hampshire Archives.

Arthur Geoffrey Scott died on 8th February 1924 in Picket Piece from TB contracted during the war, leaving his wife and 3 children aged 3½ years to 6 months. He was only 27 years old.

I am guessing at St Mary's as it is nearest cemetery

thanks

Edward

A newspaper report about him is less than helpful.
It simply says 'The funeral will take place this (Monday) afternoon at Andover'.

By the way, an announcement of his death states that he died of malaria, not TB  :-\

Thanks, I know it was TB from the death certificate and he also spent some time in a TB unit for Officers.

What I have found really sad is that I never knew that my 3.5 year old father and his 2 siblings lost their father so early.

Thanks again, just spoken with a lovely lady at Test Valley Cemetery Services who did a look up and I now have the plot number. She is going to e-mail a copy of the plan over showing the area of his grave.
