The marriage record for my 2x gt grandmother Ann Wilson to Benjamin Parkin in 1846 at Sheffield Cathedral gives her father as Thomas Wilson, a book keeper.
I have a baptism for an Ann Wilson to Thomas and Ann at Sheffield Cathedral 11 Apr 1824, DOB 24 March 1824.
In the 1841 Census for Stafford St., Sheffield, there is a Thomas Wilson,50 born Yorkshire, wife Ann, 50, children William, Thomas, Ann all 20, Mary and Sarah 15 (presume all ages rounded) but Thomas' occupation looks like Iron founder.
I cannot find them in 1851.
Looking for a marriage for a Thomas Wilson to Ann there are two possibilities, both at Sheffield Cathedral, one in Oct 1811 to Ann Wilkin and one in Nov 1817 to Ann Washington. I cannot work out which one is correct, in order to go further back.
There is a baptism for a William Wilson to Thomas and Ann in 1818, Sheffield Cathedral and a Thomas Wilson in 1821 (Ann's brothers from the 1841 Census?)
Sorry if this is a bit of a lengthy post, but ,I wanted to give the information I had already found, to save duplication of effort, and which may or may not be correct.
Please can anyone help or advise how to get the correct Thomas/Ann marriage.
Thanks for reading,
