Hello .... I noticed these posts about Hugh Jamieson ... It is noted that he e=was married to an Elsie Kirkham.. Elsie is my Aunt and was married to Hugh Jamuieson that I knew as my Uncle. I have been trying to find out more about Hugh.
He was Scottish and a carpenter by trade but did not marry my Aunt Elsie until after the war in the late 1940s. I do not have exact dates. He apparently met my Aunt while working at the Small Arms Factory located in Lakeview, Ontario. They resided near the Kirkham family house in Port Credit, Ontario for a number of years. He later moved to land that was divided among the aunts and uncles on Lock Erne lake located just outside Parry Sound, Ontario. This was a summer home and he traveled to Florida each year for the winter when he passed away.
I remember one time in the mid 1960s his son came and visited him at the Parry Sound lake.
He is buried at the Loch Erne Cemetery.
He ws a very unassuming person and many times we spent time together i his workshop located at the Lake.
I have included a link to my work on family history that will include pictures and additional information on the kirkhams. Sprinkled throughout the story are references of Hugh.
I would like to know about Uncle Hugh's first marriage and son if anyone knows or has that information.
