Perhaps the milliner connection will find her on a census.

Directories before 1913 just listed Brown and Connor(s) milliners, and had missing pages so I couldn't look for her private address. 

In the 1914 Chicago City Directory, it is listed as Brown and Conner (Jane Caldwell) same business address.  And under her own name, as Janet I (Brown and Connor) 15 E Washington and h 413 Wrightwood Ave. (h means house or board).

Jane born 1872 England.  Aged 44 years.
