Whitley Chapel is the nearest church to the Hexhamshire Bush.  I think there are other farms called that nearer Haltwhistle

My ancestors were at Bush  Hexhamshire in the 1700s

Hi Helen K
Albert Hunter was born 26 Nov 1888 Plaistow, London. His parents were George & Jane Hunter (nee Hunter).
I have George Hunter on an 1851 Walthamstow census age 8, and then again on 1891 West ham census with his wife Jane and Annie, Ellen and Albert.
George is missing in between these two census, and by 1901 both George and Jane have died. But still can't find Albert on 1901.
I found this Albert, which is the only one to fit age wise, a couple of years ago, and dismissed it.  But then realised that an Alfred Steels was living with Alberts grandparents George and Susan, on a couple of census, he was born in Leeds and was down as a grandson, so thought that maybe this Albert in Hexham might be the one and had gone to live with another child that I didn't have up in Yorkshire.
But I was obviously wrong there.
George (b 1842, Walthamstow) and Jane married in Bethnal Green 1 Jan 1873, and had Annie abt 1882, Ellen abt 1887 and Albert in 1888, so they were about, just never seem to make the census for 3 decades.
According to Navy records, Albert had tatoos, and one was in memory of a dear brother, so there was at least one other son that George and Jane had, but no idea of a name.  Every time you put George b1842 into the census it only comes up with a George who married an Elizabeth, this is not the right one, as he is with Elizabeth on 1881 and 1891 census and the 1891 is the only one that I have our George and Jane on.
I have searched every possible place and angle and also come up against a brick wall.  I think this family was just not meant to be found.
Thanks for trying anyway.
Sue

Hi Peter
Thanks for your message.  I think we have found the Albert it question, at the Bush farm, and it is not him.  I will have to go back to the drawing board on this one.
Thanks.
