I would love to think so .
But my Hugh McGregor was sentenced to 3 month for larceny, in Durham in 1855, Duncan and Rebecca were married in Co Durham in 1854, I was kind of thinking he was the same Hugh McGregor, but I couldn't find anymore information ,only because of my ineptitude.
I have the census for around that period with Duncan & Rebecca living in Southwick, or hartlepool I can't remember which, and I thought there would be a mention of Hugh,
But the only other family mention was their first born daughter Salina 1858-1913, there were more, sons and daughters, but no mention of a Hugh .

The 1861 census for Duncan shows birthplace as BarnParish Scotland

I have a few newspaper cuttings they mention Hugh McGregor, I'll try and attach them, not sure how to interpret them, as I can only see dates and not a year, that's why I was thinking a brother or a cousin ?

Not sure I've read your comment right - you don't know the years of the articles?

 The first article is from Mar 1900 and the second two are  from Feb 1864 and  March 1864.

Should have said which newspapers the articles appeared in.

First one was in Sunderland Daily Echo and Shipping Gazette on 1 March 1900. There is also a similar articled in Durham County Adviser on 2 March 1900

The other two are The Newcastle Guardian and Tyne Mercury 27 Feb 1864

and there is also an article in Newcastle Courant 4 March 1864
