For me it was c2017. Happy days. I'm a lapsed member, and just received a 20% discount offer to re-join. It was 30% a few months ago. Hmm.

I took the 3 month Black Friday offer at 40% off.
When that expired they offered me another go at 20% off. I didn't respond.

Now they are offering me 30% off (for 3 or 12 months) but offer expires at midnight tonight. Email only came today.
What do you think are the chances of another 40% offer if I ignore this one?

Well, it was worth waiting a year because last month they offered me 12 months Everything sub for £99.99, so half price.

That is a good price for FindMyPast.

Mine is set not to renew in late June so lets see what happens.

Have to say though that apart from the 1921 census and Newspapers I find Ancestry vastly better but as I have had to have my DNA tested to help solve Brickwalls then FindMyPast would never has been useful for me in my own case because of its lack of this feature.

I like both sites. Sometimes when I google Ancestry for individual Australian or American databases I get that stupid message pop up saying "We recommend you go to Ancestry.co.uk" due to being in the UK but I always still click for the US or Australian versions. I can use their index of databases but for me sometimes it is quicker to google them.

I stopped the auto renewal for my annual subscription to FindMyPast in March. On 8th April, as expected, my access to their files came to an end. Today (11 April) I received an email offering me 50% discount so I have now renewed for a year's "Everything" for £99.99 rather than the standard cost of £199.99.

A point to note - when I tried to renew by clicking on the link they provided with the email and then filling in my email and password it would not let me as my password does not conform with their latest  rules - not enough different types of Numbers, Upper case and Lower case letters and Special characters.
To get round this I did not use the link but just logged on as normal. So to avoid this minor hassle you may want to (before your sub runs out) update your password to fit the new requirements. 8 characters or more long and at least 3 types of Number, Uppercase, Lowercase, Special Character if i remember right.

Today (11 April) I received an email offering me 50% discount so I have now renewed for a year's "Everything" for £99.99 rather than the standard cost of £199.99.

I got this offer too, via a British Newspaper Archive email.

"Use code VEDAY30 to save 30% on 1, 3 or 6-month subscriptions, or VEDAY50 to save 50% on a 12-month Everything subscription."

"Terms & Conditions: Offer applies to Findmypast subscriptions only. Get 50% off a 12-month Everything subscription with code VEDAY50, or 30% off 1, 3, or 6-month subscriptions with code VEDAY30. Valid until 23:59 BST on 22 April. The discount is only valid for customers who received this email, can be used once per user, and requires a valid payment method. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renewal is turned off in your account settings. Not valid for subscriptions purchased via the Findmypast app."

Worth a try.
