Hi - These are in the 1851 census for Gloucestershire
BURRUP George Brother in Law Widow/er 63 Cordwainer Dymock / Dymock
BURRUP Thomas 53 Farmer Dymock / Dymock
BURRUP Ann Lodger 51 Pauper Aston Ingham / Dymock
BURRUP Emanuel 354 Baker & Grocer Hereford  / Newent
BURRUP Lancelot 61 Farm Bailiff Dymock  / Bromsberrow
BURRUP Ann Widow/er 33  Servant Much Marcle  / Newent
BURRUP William 44 Shoeing Smith Castle Morton  / Tewkesbury
BURRUP Ann Lodger 21 Dressmaker Herefordshire Much Marcle  / Cheltenham 13-51
few have strayed far from Dymock, you can search the census for other family members here
http://www.rootsweb.com/~cotswold/GLSontheweb.htm
and if you go here you are in luck, you will see records of your family back to the 1500's, don't be put off by the different spellings.

Thanks Fred, I had got those few already but will look up the other urls you gave me. I did find my G>G>Grandfather and family listed as Burrs in Birmingham on the 1881 census. I guess the guy taking the information obviously thought that Joseph was burping when he gave his name!!!LOL. Ann

Hi Janan, I would be grateful to see what is on the 1841  census, I did look a couple of years ago when I was still new to all this and it meant nothing then but I have been trying to find the time to get to Glos. record office but a 4 yr old grandson means that planning goes out of the window most of the time (and his parents now tell me that no 2 grandchild is on the way) so I guess that means that everything goes to the back boiler again. LOL

Thank you Janan. the two at the bottom of the list are my GT. gt. grandparents. They finally ended up in Birmingham and are on the 1881 census as Burrs! The others are obviously related but I need to sort them out.
I know that a John Burrup was under sherriff of Glos. at one point and his son died as a missionary having been due to meet up with Dr. Livingstone the missionary explorer in Africa.
PS if I can be of any help with lookups in Leics. do let me know.
