And as already pointed out the maps are Ordnance Survey maps, produced by the Ordnance Survey, the UK's official mapping agency which started out as an offshoot of the Army.

That's not Balnamoon in the parish of Tyrie. It's a different Balnamoon altogether, in the parish of Menmuir, county of Angus.

First edition of the Ordnance Survey six-inch map https://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=15.6&lat=57.59346&lon=-2.17079&layers=257&b=1&o=100&marker=57.58491,-2.18562
shows Balnamoon as an area of several small fields just east of New Pitsligo.

Second edition https://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=15.1&lat=57.59377&lon=-2.18184&layers=6s&b=1&o=100&marker=57.58491,-2.18562 looks very similar.
