Tracing my French ancestors

I am trying to find my Hugenot ancestors Pierre Delespaulle & Marie Hanrot but having difficulties.

I have located some of there childrens birth records from French Church Threadneedle Street:

Pierre Delespaulle baptised 8th of March 1674

Elie Delespaulle baptised 1st of January 1673

Marie Delespaule 29th September 1678

Based on the children’s baptismal years I believe Mary & Pierre dob to be somewhere between 1620-1660

The names do vary to some degree in spelling for Pierre and Marie as follows:

LePaule DelePaule Delepaulle Delespaulle Hanro Hanrot Henro Lepla

I have a suspicion that Marie Hanrot could be a sibling of a well documented hugenot by the name of Jonas Hanrot born in Sedan and moved to London but I am unable to certify this.

Any help tracing Marie & Paul would be great - I don’t even really know where to start

A Jacob Delespau was baptised at the Walloon or Strangers church, Canterbury, son of Abraham 20 March 1663

Guillaume baptised 21 March 1676/7 Threadneedle st,  son of Pierre De Lespaule & Marie Hanro
Elizabeth De L’Espaule bap 25 Dec 1684 ditto etc Marie Henro


So Marie unlikely to have been born before 1640


Godmother for Guillaume is an Ann Hanro

A very tempting Abraham here baptised in 1606 Sedan. Perhaps a bit old to be the father of Jacob but….

Especially as yet to find a Henry/Henri baptised to Pierre & Marie
Or the marriage of Pierre & Marie

I cannot figure out the name of the godfather.
It would be worth asking on the handwriting board if no one picks it up here.

No, it isn’t a child of Pierre’s at Canterbury,  I was just casting around looking for Jacob (the godfather of Jacob junior)

Jacob (junior’s 1675, father is Pierre, and Marie Anro/Ano (silent H ) his mother. Godfather is another Jacob

But there are other possibilities around Spitalfields. Also other potential family with names like Solomon & Isaac

I think you will just have to Plough through them all with wildcards eg D*l*p*  and build family groups   . Looking at the original images where you can as you get other people mentioned who will help link them. 

Frustrating that so far I do not see a marriage for Pierre & Marie though.

Looking at the children of Pierre & Marie, it is clear some are still missing.  Some work there in the first instance is needed I think (as people frequently name children after other family).

Which one are you descended from?  What are their children’s names
