John Grayburn marriage

seeking  details of John Grayburn's marriage to Jane Duncan
In 1851 census they lived in Chapel Street, Hull.

John was born in Ireland 1826 - with his Dad being George Grayburn and mother possibly Bridget. John's first child Edward was born c1846.

I am also seeking marriage details for George to Mary Gordon from Somerset again Holy Trinity/St Mary's area of Hull, between 1830 - 1841.

Have you tried Freebmd for the marriage?  It must have taken place between 1843 and, say, 1846, so should be on there or on 1837online.  The earlier marriage may be too early for civil registration; if so you could try the IGI on the Familysearch website.

I can tell you that neither marriage is on FreeBMD so a session on 1837online is called for.
Interestingly, a George Grayburn married Ann Tomlinson in Holy Trinity on 13th Oct 1833.  George's parents are John Grayburn and Elizabeth Drinkall.
And a John Grayburn who died 12th July 1876 was the husband of Dorothy Inglis, m. c 1843 in Hull.  These are on the IGI.  Any connection?

I have tried all these sources and found the same records, but these are not the right Georges and Johns, I'm afraid. I am busy building a picture of all the Grayburns and Greyburns and Graburns in the Hull area to try to make links between the various branches of the family to hope some clue emerges.c
I will double check 1837.com, but unless their records have been updated, I'm pretty sure they are not there either.

I have hit a brick wall and cannot find the time right now to check out the records offices in Hull or Dublin, (where John was born.)

Can I just ask - are you getting the full names of the women from their children's birth cerificates?  If so, there is always the possibility that they weren't actually married.  That was (and is) by no means uncommon, and it's quite usual for the parents to claim to be married on censuses and their offspring's birth certificates. 
Did you know, by the way, that 1817 Directory for Hull shows a John Grayburn, sailmaker, at 4 Posterngate (he's also there in 1803), and a Thomas Grayburn, agent to the garrison (no address)?

Yes I had considered that they were not married.  I had not seen the Hull directory from 1817, but had come across John Grayburn sailmaker in a later directory.

I am interested in Thomas because of the possible army link - George appears in 1851 census as a Chelsea Pensioner.

I have had no luck on 1837 so far, but I will keep checking.
