I watched the Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival live on the net on Saturday evening.
The procession was estimated to be 2 miles long! What a spectacle.

Corryn

I usually did the Weston-Super-Mare carnival, as mum & dad lived in Uphill.
Did Bridgwater once!

Thanks L.M.I might have a bash.
Glad you enjoyed the Fireworks K.G.

Just got the news from my lovely neighbour’s son in law, that she has died.
Unconscious for three days and just slipped away.
I am truly sorry, I did not visit her because she did not fret or ask about her home and her daughter was worried if her Mum remembered me she may be unsettled .
No idea as yet when the funeral will be or where, she worshipped at St,Joseph’s just near my former home .

We got on really well and had lots of laughs.

Viktoria.

Yes,L.M. She was 90 my first summer here -2017,so 96.
I will get some more details re Funeral when her daughter has had a chance to get things organised.
I ‘ve missed her since she had to go into a home .
But a peaceful release. She deserved that.
Viktoria.

Sorry to hear about your friend Viktoria.  I remember you used to plant up pots for her for her birthdays if I remember rightly.

Yes I did Pinetree, and watered them in the evenings, her front garden was completely flagged over so just the two large pots with flowers,I used trailing lobelias mixed colours, geraniums , Alyssum ,etc ,they got lots of sunshine and brightened the front garden a bit ,something for her to see as she sat all day by the window.
We have had some laughs ,the number of times she has burnt the toast, let pans boil dry etc and could not manage the smoke alarm!!!!
Then did not remember she had a fridge when I took her weekly treat of a trifle, loved it when I took a slice of sponge cake round after baking..
Her daughter had every gadget under the sun set up for pills etc but she beat them all!
But a good life and a most pleasant neighbour .
Her daughter will be really broken, she did all anyone could have done.
Not sure the new neighbour willl be so nice ( my son!) . ;D

Well bedtime and I still miss the bathroom sounds in the night ,I would listen to see if she was O.K. She had a few falls.

Good night everyone, thanks for the kind messages, I was so sorry not to visit her but she was very settled and did not ask about her home and I might have brought that to her mind and then she would not have been so content.
Goodnight.Viktoria.

Viktoria- so very sorry to hear about your neighbour, always sad to lose a friend. I’m sure whilst she was living at home you brightened up her life and anyone would be delighted to have a kind and thoughtful person such as yourself living next door.
As others have said you have all those memories.
My best wishes to you and hope your new neighbour turns out ok!!!
