but by 1891 there were 18

In 1861, the Waxes (eight) and the Wanes (217) were exactly the opposite of what you might expect.

Wonder if any of them ever met either of the one and two people with, respectively, Wax and Wane as christian names? :)

1901 England - 24 Peas, but not a single Pod (96 Podds, though)

278 Coppers and only 4 Crims (and they say the crime rate is improving!)

There was also one person in the 1881 census who couldnt tell his (look it up yourself-it really is there....) from his elbow (1)
