Hi Aprile,

I have had a look at the 1911 Census and found James Thomas living at 25 Avenue Street, Bolton.  Aged 69 married, Mechanic (Mill), Cotton Spinning, worker, place of birth Rawtenstall.  His wife Rachel is aged 53, married for 25 years and place of birth Bury.  Their son Samuel is aged 15, single,  Apprentice Mill Mechanic, Cotton Spinning, place of birth Bolton. It looks as though this could be the one.  I found a death registration for July - September 1911 for James Thomas (age 67) Bolton 8c 586.  I initially contacted to offer assistance, my sister lives in Bolton and is willing to visit Heaton Cemetery.

Thank you so much.  I did see the 1911 census but, I am unsure if this is the same James Thomas. I was hoping to confirm the date of birth with the cemetery. My James Thomas was born January 11, 1842 in Longholme to a Mary Whitaker and Samuel Thomas.
I currently live in Ontario, Canada and have been back to England 3 years in a row and have had no success in locating him.

Thank you for you support.

Thank you, this is helpful.  Does it show the 3rd person buried in the grave?

Hi
I guess it will have all four burials, but the free index doesn't say who or when they are. We would have to pay for that.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look as though FamilySearch have the grave registers (unless they are hidden in there somewhere!)
If you have someone particularly in mind they could be looked up in the burial registers.

Hi Aprile,  Things are moving fast!  You may already have this information but I have been looking at two free internet sites.  www.lan-opc.org.uk have a marriage for Samuel Thomas and Mary Whitaker on 3/12/1822 at St Peter, Burnley.  Also on www.lancashirebmd.org there is a birth registration for James Thomas 1842 mother Whitaker Registers at Preston ROSS/3/40.

Thank you, I have James Thomas's birth certificate.  I can't seem to find his death certificate. He disappeared. He was married to my 3rd great-grandmother Maria Shepherd Pilling Thomas.
