I see Burwash was in Ticehurst district in 1865.
A John Boarer and John Croft death was registered in the March quarter of 1865 in the district. And in the June quarter of 1865 was John Avery, John Daniels, John Bailey, John Gibb and John Stonestreet. As said no John Weston or John Upton. But listing all John's registered may help if the surname was grossly mis transcribed.
Could be the death was registered, and the entry was missed when being copied into the copies sent to the GRO at the time, meaning the death will appear in the local registry office deaths. Of course the district may have changed name over time.
