How soon after a death can I order certificate

GRO website only seems to go up to maybe 2021

Do I have to wait 2 years for deaths from 2023?

Ah

You could probably order a certificate from the Register Office where the death was registered if it was less than 6 months ago.
Berks / Oxon: Eltham, Annetts, Wiltshire (surname not county), Hawkins, Pembroke, Partridge
Dorset / Hants: Derham, Stride, Purkiss, Sibley
Yorkshire: Pottage, Carr, Blackburn, Depledge
Sussex: Goodyer, Christopher, Trevatt
Lanark: Scott (soldier went to Jersey CI)
Jersey: Fowler, Huelin, Scott
