William Bryan settlers - Ann Phillips and family

I'm trying to find out more about the descendants of Ann Phillips. Her granddaughter Louisa Jane James married Emanuel Newell, who I'm trying to trace. I think he may have fought in the Maori Land Wars in Taranaki.

If you google, > use "new zealand + emanuel newell + taranaki"  ... you'll find some other researchers of this name :

And it seems too that much research into Emanuel NEWELL and his family has already been done and there are some 60 plus family trees posted to the ancestry.com website.
