Hi
Does anyone know if I'm likely to find a birth in 19th-century Serbia/Yugoslavia online? I'm thinking that the answer is no, but hoping there may be a small chance.

family search records
https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Serbia_Online_Genealogy_Records
https://forebears.io/serbia
A guide to Serbian ancestry
https://www.worldgenweb.net/serbia/
https://en.geneanet.org/country/search-Serbia-SRB
Maybe you will find some information on one of these sites
Try using a search engine for 'Serbian ancestry'
I haven't searched using 'Yugoslavian ancestry'

Hi I'm looking for Milan Vertiprski/Witapruski born c 1785
1911 census says b Nagigikikinda - nationality Hungarian
1921 census says Itikinda, Serbia
The family stories say that he was Serbian.
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

Hi
just to clarify the situation.
if I´m right the date of birth should be 1885
The place you are looking for is the same place:
serbian - Kikinda
hungarian - Nagykikinda
German - Großkikinda
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kikinda
The parish has a web site in serbian and hungarian.
http://www.catholic-zr.org.rs/nagykikinda/

Wow, thank you so much.
Sorry about the slip in arithmetic, of course, you are correct.

This place was a part of the Austrian Empire.
