The only sort-of explanation I can come up with is this marriage in Kilburn on 15 Mar 1862:
Askwith WILSON 20 Farmers Servant, Sessay, Father = William Wilson, Labourer
Ruth MAYNARD 20 Spinster, Wass, Father = Robert Maynard, Labourer
Witnesses: Elizabeth Maynard (X), John Wilson
Ruth signed, but Askwith signed X.
I don't see any sign of them after this
Don't know if this is the same man, but its an unusual name
Asquith Wilson
in the Yorkshire, England, Quarter Session Records, 15 April 1865
It's a bastardy order, Asquith is of Hunslet, Leeds.
Woman is Mary Ann Moverley , child born 16 February 1865.
There are 2 more entries in the same year..
Possible birth registration for the child.
