Well, they replied:

"Thank you for your email.
 
We apologise for any confusion or concern caused by the email received advising 'Your subscription has been updated'.
 
This has been sent in error.
 
To confirm your current subscription remains as it was including any auto-renewal status and no changes to price will take effect until your next renewal date.
 
You can check your renewal information and price via the My Subscription section of My Account when logged in.

They sent me one saying I was going to be on a special 'Find My Past IE' product. I asked for evidence that I had changed my product and they soon back tracked, though obviously they have shown their hand.
Another increase brings them very close to 'not worth the money' territory.

Some public libraries give access to Find my Past.  Hope this helps.

Thanks for that info Rena. I always thought FindMyPast was owned by a US company.

It may come to me using that access at the library in the near future Jackella, if I opt out of subscribing to FindMyPast.
