So when did Eleanor Armstrong die? Having two of them, and both married to Johns, doesn't help. Because the other one is also a widow in 1881, living in Haltwhistle. Still has her daughter Rebecca with her. Perhaps she is slightly older than "our" one.
It also means that the other John could be the one buried at Haltwhistle in 1873
