You can search exact date of birth in the 1939 register on Findmypast.
Thanks for this answer, Ive often been annoyed you cant do this on Ancestry and have just spent 'a while' searching with a first name and birth year as I have the dob and got to about page 3 of over a thousand names before I decided to look for an answer here....
This did work to a degree but one of the two that a had found the hardway were not on the FindMyPast list of 16, so it is not conclusive.
Wish Ancestry would spend time on worthwhile additions to their site instead of the rubbish they have added recently...imo.

But be wary that 1939 dates are often a year out
People knew their birth dates but sometimes grew up thinking they were a year younger or older or previously had altered years to be eligible to enter army or certain schools

People often take 1939 date as most accurate because it includes month and day but baptisms are often more accurate

Agreed believe the Priest
Not the 1939 Register transcription
Nor even the Birth Certificate with Date declared to Registrar
I have Several Relatives where the Birth Certificate date is weeks after the  Priest Recorded their Baptism weeks earlier
