Hi thanks for your kind offer. :)

Could you check the 1870 census for me.

I'm interested in Henry Woodiwiss, born 1832 Derbyshire, England. Also his wife Fanny, she was from Ireland. They would have a son with the Henry F Woodiwiss, born 1868 New York.

I assume they were in New York, as they have another child in 1873, the 1880 census for New York shows she was born in New York.

With Regards

William Rowland b London, Southwark,Surrey 1887
George Rowland born same place 1889

I have just discovered that they emigrated to Detroit, Michigan NOT Illinois...any info would be helpful. They went over after 1901. Sorry I haven't got any other info.

Thanks

Nelli D....

These are the entries I found that closest matched your info.. if any of them seems to be the right one let me know and I can get the further details..........

1920 Detroit, Wayne, Michigan...

George Rowland - 38 - immigrated in 1902 - alien - born England parents born England - Bricklayer building...
Margaret Rowland - 48 - unknown immigration year - alien - born Canada, father - Ireland Mother - England........

The other George in Detroit from England immigrated in 1914 and was 27.....

There is a William Rowland in Detroit on the 1920 census born in 1887 but it says he was born in Kentucky.

1930 Detroit Michigan

William Rowland 41 immigrated in 1915...wife Edith, son George, dau. Viola, son Albert F....

George E. Rowland  38 immigrated 1911... wife Ettie, son Billie.....

1910 doesnt show any William or George in Detroit MI....

Hi
I was wondering if you may be able to check for me whether an relative of mine ended up in the States please?  She was Henrietta Lockett born Alderney, Channel Island, England 1858 and married Tom Lockkett.  Children were Thomas 1878, Harry 1880 & William 1883 and they were all of Truro, Cornwall up untill 1891 when they then dissapear from the 1901 census.

Fingers crossed you may have them there!

Many Thanks

Hi Megan,

Can you please look up the 1870 census for New York, for Thomas J Price 29 and Margaret Price 24 both born in South Wales. I know they Emigrated from Liverpool in 1870 not sure if they arrived before the census was taken.

Thank you.
Charmaine

Mag, I have just discovered who my boyfriends grandfather was.  He left when his son was very young, under 9, and never was  mentioned by his wife again.  His name was JASPER C. EDWARDS.  Someone else found him in   1930 in WASHINGTON CO., TN., DISTRICT 4.  He was AGE 32 ((B) 1897/98).  He was then (m) to a MARY AGE 21 and they were then (M)  2 YEARS.  We don't have any record of him and my boyfriends grandmother ever getting divorced  and in 1930 she was living in Hartford,Ct and stated she was (m) on that census so maybe Jasper was a bigamist.  Could you see if you can find him in 1900 as a child w/parents and/or in 1910?  He was from TN. before he (m) Angelina Bazinet/Bassinett about 1918 in Ma. where their son Alfred Norman Edwards was (b) in June 1920.  Alfred was my boyfriends father.  You would probably find Jasper in Tn. in those years.  Also could you check 1920 census to find him w/ANGELINA EDWARDS (WIFE) around NEW BEDFORD,MA..?  I know I am asking you to look in several years census' and I don't want to put you out but it took me 2 years searching just to find his first name and I have spent 3 days on-line and can't find Anything else about him.  I am trying to see if he had more kids w/Mary 'cause if so They might still be alive and not even know Jasper was (m) and had a son before and I would like to introduce them to their nephew, my boyfriend Bob.  Or at least Bob might have cousins alive in TN..  Thank You Very Much.  I am in no great hurry as I know you have many look-ups to do, I just don't want to wait 2 more years.     Leagen

Hi Megan

I know your probably very busy, but when you have a minute or ten, i was wondering if you could help me with this problem, you see my GGGrandfather went to the USA and he met and married my GGGrandmother then they came to england, the thing is i don't know their ages and i don't even know where in America they went, i think she was Irish and they may have had two children as i cannot find their birth records. and i think it would have been 1900 - 1912

Hi Megan,
can I please take up your kind offer.

The family I am looking for were found on the 1880 Census at Buffalo, Erie, New York

Joseph Rowe married 28 Carpenter born England
Ellen Rowe     wife      29                           Ireland
Joseph Rowe  son        5                           Canada
Margaret         dau.      3                            Canada
Thursey           dau.      8 months               Canada

Family information states that Ellen had died by 1888 and Joseph had re-married. Also Thursey was possible named Thirza after her grandmother and not Thursey.
Hope that this is enough information for you.

Many thanks for your help
