James Edward possibly died 1898, I can't access any details as the link has gone down to New Zealand civil records,  but it appears Jane remarried to George Hamilton Gibson

Harvey was born c1890. Birth date not known but he died 1917 aged 27

His enlistment papers give his birth date as 29th August 1888

I don't really know much about New Zealand births and the only one I can pick up on has Harveys mother as a single Jane Wild, in 1888

1888/5757   Wild   Harvey   Jane   NR.   drilling down gives a date of birth of 23rd August.

I think Radcliff is correct.

its doubtful you will find the father of Harvey, perhaps he never knew himself, there would only be a few people who knew this information, the mother perhaps the reputed father, and maybe Grandma,
I think perhaps you will have to settle for just knowing Jane was his mother, if Harvey himself had married and had children DNA would have been a way of finding out the truth,
good luck with the rest of your research, Harveys death is well recorded ,sadly his baptism I can not find, that may be accessible in the local archives in Canterbury , Methodist or non conformist records ,

I am trying to trace the birth parents of Harvey Wild ......   I have a connection with Mary Wild/Vincent from Waimate who was Charlottes daughter and was wondering if Mary was Harveys mother?

The "Mary VINCENT - nee WILD" (completed) thread on the New Zealand Board to which you have previously posted, I know, is very lengthy (- I've had to re-read it myself to refresh my memory). 
It does though serve as a very good first port of call for information on the wider families of VINCENT and WILD (sometimes spelled as "WILDS").

I thought as you had commented there on Mary VINCENT's children, that you may have have picked up on the post which mentioned some other births to Mary

1888 / 10177 - Henry VINCENT - son of Mary / father not recorded
--   this child was born on 19 October 1888  two months after the birth of Harvey WILD (b 23 August 1888) - to Jane WILD, so Mary could not have been Harvey's mother.
