Joseph Wilkins - Brinklow

Many Ancestry Family Trees have Joseph Wilkins born 24th August 1784 but I can't find a source for this birth date. I hope someone can find the source of this information.

Have you contacted any of the tree owners & asked where they got the info from? 

What independant info do you have re his birthyear & birthplace?

The only 1851 entry for that name b Brinklow was b 1804 - baptism shows father as Edward

This is on 24 trees on Ancestry and they all appear to give the source Ancestry Family Trees, which is not at all helpful. My Wilkins family were in London but I have several DNA matches to Wilkins in Brinklow and if this birth was correct it would be just the link I'm looking for.

I can only see one tree on Ancestry - shows he died 1838.  Also shows no sources for any of the info in the tree

It’s a well known fact that people copy other family trees without checking whether the info is correct. 

If 24 trees have this same info it’s possible 23 are copied 😂.  Unless the info can be found online I suspect it’s a case of trying to find which of the trees is the earliest & contacting that owner
