Ephraim Alborough in Edenbridge Kent Will - or is it?
« on: Wednesday 22 February 23 21:50 GMT (UK) »
Here’s a challenge for Chatters. It’s a clip from the Will of Ambrose Gibbons of Edenbridge in Kent, proved in January 1804. The clip mentions grandchildren Ephraim and Mary Alborough - at least it looks like Alborough, but I haven’t been able to find baptisms or otherwise for them.

Any ideas for alternative interpretations?

Thanks, Flemming.

Could it be Hallborough? Halboro.  And scribe wrote what he thought was being said?

Hi there, I think you might have got it. There's a marriage for 'Ephriam Halbrough' 1838 Hackney - surely there can't be two...? Famous last words  :D

Many thanks, will keep digging with this name variant.
