Gillg and Viktoria we must be very lucky up here as haven’t noticed any shortages. We have eggs including a range of sizes and prices. We do suffer from the stacking going on blocking things, but the main delay is at the pay points, where staffed tills have been removed to just two maybe three and the rest are self scan or scan and shop. We use two or three different supermarkets depending on where we are and they’re all the same. Only ones where you can get real staff promptly are Aldi and Lidl, and even an Aldi now has a self scan set of tills.

Yes, the last two visits to Tesco, there has not been one manned checkout .
Only self service.
Morrison’s  the same , their self checkouts are abysmal ,one member of staff permanently sorting out problems .

Only one manned checkout at Aldi and no self checkouts ,at our local branch.

Same at M&S ,one manned and one member of staff helping at the self checkouts .
Next week they may be robots.

I've got some catching up to do with the diary and will properly soon.
Roobarb, there is a fearsome wind blowing outside and it has kept me awake half the night!
I have a backshift today so will have to set off at lunchtime.  Everything is blowing like mad outside and there are no seagulls on the rooftops; they must be sheltering somewhere.  I can hear the sounds of things being blown over.
I'm dreading going out in this and just hope it might have calmed down a bit by lunch time.  I hope there won't be bus travel disruptions.  I wish it was a day off and I could stay at home.

RTL you're right, it's blowing a hooley out there. The cat can't decide if he wants to be in or out! He wants to chase the leaves that are blowing about all over, however he doesn't like it when the wind blows his fur about lol. Inside jobs today as far as possible I think.

Yes Candleflame, your poor cat must be wondering what's going on.  I think you're right to be planning an indoors day. I have read a weather warning that there might be danger from flying debris.  I wouldn't be at all surprised if a few more trees blow over.

I expected to be kept awake by the wind but I was really tired and slept right through. It seems to have eased off now, the weather warnings are in place until earlyafternoon so hopefully it'll have settled down for you going to work RTL.
