Does anyone have the history of Tan y Coed. The old mill esgairdawe

Classed as a corn mill.

On the 1891 census the miller is widowed John Davies aged 63 with his 2 daughters Margaret and Ann. The address is Cwmdawe Mill, Bryndifyr, Pencarreg, Lampeter, Carmarthenshire, Wales

Margaret is the miller there in 1901 & 1911 (aged 68)

They were at Cwmdawe farm next to the mill in 1881, John widowed with daughters but farming 84 acres, the miller being John Jones aged 31 who also farmed 15 acres with his wife and their 3 little children, first born 1875, so they must have married before moving in to the mill by 1881, since they are not there in 1871.

David Davies and wife and his step daughters are at the mill in 1871, he is 48 and is  miller and farmer of 30 acres.

Evan Davies aged 50 with wife Jemima and 3 sons and a farm servant are at the mill but farming (no mention of being a miller)
Haven't yet found the mill on 1851 / 61.

I think perhaps there were two mills..the family I am looking for is nelly(elenor)wife of John Jenkins cart and horses rhydcwmerau.

Eleanor and John Jenkins are at the Horse and cart from 1871 on, which is an inn. They are at Cwmdubach 1861 with 2 week old daughter. he is an ag lab
1851 Eleanor Davies 13 with parents james and Mary and sister Sarah at Rhydyfallen fach, he is a farmer of 27 acres and smith.

You named the mill as Tanycoed, but this seems to be a separate property that does not seem to be a mill. on their marriage cert john jenkins and his father were butchers and james davies a smith, so not sure how the mill fits in

John jenkins father was known as Dai butcher.

I understood eleanor s father to be a Miller..
 I believe one of the familes lived at rhyd y fallon fach.
 Esgairdawe but thats hear say.

I was well aware of john and Nelly s life at the inn and their offspring but have only recently found that they both hailed from esgairdawe..

In 1841 there seem to be 2 Davies families in the same area, with daughters Eleanor (age difference of 10 years). One Davies famlly are at mill, Pencarreg and the other at Tanycoed.

At the Mill (next to Dolgwm isaf) we have the Davieses all born out of county. David Davies born 1791 and wife Ann 1816, with preseumed daughter Elinor born 1821 and a Thomas Evans servant.

Over the page 1841 is Tanycoed, with John Davies a mason born 1771 born in county, Elinor 1781 born out of county and Elinor aged 13 born 1828 in county.

1851 there's an Elenor Davies unmarried servant aged 31 born 1820 at Penybank Llanycrwys at David Isaac's farm HO 107 Piece 2483 F141 page 9 sch 33  She could be the Elinor from the mill
