from Joseph's baptism on 2 Jan 1814 in Redruth, his parents' residence was Carnkie in the parish of Illogan. Likely to have been born before that date. James noted as miner.

Maria living at Carnkie in 1841

and with son Peter in 1851 which gives her place of birth as Illogan
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SGKF-LPD

Age on both census entries ties in with being 84 at death in dec qtr 1860 so the 1782 baptism looks to be a bit late.

Burial 9 April 1828 James Thomas 51 in Illogan, residence noted as Carnkie so that ties in with 1841 census. But if age on burial is accurate, it does put his birth earlier than 1779 and there are several other possible James Thomas baptisms in the area.

don't know if you have this - the will of James Rablin - requests that daughters Fanny & Ann are brought up to the tailoring or dressmaking trade so that they can support themselves. The only other name mentioned is son John who gets his Bible.

I am not sure if this is of any use. It shows some used the church in Camborne. I cannot find anything in Illogan or after 1837. There is a church in Illogan, so the registers may still be in use. It looks like the first Fanny Rablin died as they are the same couple even though she is Sarah/Sally.

Thank you, the second listing is my Fanny Rablin and the Ann baptized on 5/29/1820 would be her sister.

I am not finding any records from Illogan Parish. The record offered; Richard Thomas [Illogan . Miner], suggest he did not use Camborne, whereas Anne Rablin and the family used that church. As their records are not with the church in Camborne, it depends on where they were living. When at Carnkie, the closest church would be Trevenson Church, Church Road, Pool TR15 3PT. It is looked after by St Illogen Church. Rosewarne Downs would be a similar distance as Carnkie to Trevenson.

The records for Illogan and Trevenson may still be in use, or not yet transcribed, or lost. To enquire you could contact: The Revd Steven Robinson at St Illogan Church, Churchtown, Illogan TR16 4SR . 01209 843938 . There is a form to e-mail the Parish. https://www.saint-illogan.org.uk/contact-the-rector/ If the records are still with the church, one of their volunteers may be able to find what you are looking for.
