Have you tried asking the record office if someone is able to look at the records for you.  I would have loved an excuse to visit there as my family were in Hastings and a distant relation was relieving officer at the workhouse at one time but I can't get there for you.

I was born at this Hospital in 1944.I think,only think it was a General Hospital.
Maybe Hastings Referance Librairy can help.Worth an email.

From the length of their illnesses and the fact that three of the family were afflicted it would seem that they had TB. The Hastings Borough Sanatorium was in Frederick Road round about the time of the 2nd War. Not sure how the Sanatorium related to other hospital buildings there.  Was it completely separate in its own grounds or a wing of another building? Mag.

thanks Mag, that could be a possibility. Although it seems to be a different part of Frederick Road, the registers doesn't mention the Sanatorium, so they could have fallen under the same administration
