eliza Bartlett
« on: Monday 26 December 22 06:52 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
Looking for the parents of Eliza Bartlett, she married in Sydney to Charles Friend in  1857. Marriage notice on Trove says that her father was the Late John Bartlett and that she married at the residence of Mr W. Wilkins her brother in law. I found him marrying Harriet Bartlett  but unable to find her death or a link to her father. Can you help? I know that Eliza is buried at Rookwood in 1908. thanks

thanks Wivenhoe, I am unable to locate her father John BARTLETT. Just found her sister and her husband both are buried at Rookwood with their daughter.

Eliza is buried alone at Rookwood but her parents I am unable to find.

thank you again, I am wondering if the informant information is wrong on Harriet's death certificate, because if Harriett is the sister of Eliza then shouldn't it read her father is  John on Harriett's death certificate as  Eliza's marriage notice has her father as being John.

the plot thickens .

I said the plot thickens ..LOL

I have so far... Eliza Bartlett married Charles Friend in 1857 Sydney as per newspaper article this same article has Eliza's father as John Bartlett.

Charles and Eliza have 5 boys. Charles James Wilkins FRIEND, Robert Harry FRIEND, Arthur W FRIEND, Richard Owen FRIEND, Edgar Charles FRIEND. (the name James is most likely the step fathers name, Wilkins is the brother in laws name, not sure where the name Harry is from, Owen is a family name as is Charles).
Charles Friend died in 1914 at hospital for insane at Parramatta, all childrens names are listed. Charles is buried with his Mother Elizabeth nee Bunker/Friend CHEETHAM, his name is not on the headstone but is recorded in the records of Rookwood.
Eliza Friend Nee BARTLETT died in 1908 is buried at Rookwood in a single grave in the Methodist section.
Just have found her sister Harriett BARTLETT married William WILKINS in 1852 Rookwood has a headstone? listing William Wilkins born 16 Jan 1867 died 10 Nov 1892
Harriett WILKINS born 5 May 1835 died 24 Aug 1907
daughter Beatrice WILKINS Born 24 Aug 1864 died 27Oct 1889 at Petersham.
I have yet to find the births for Eliza and Harriett.

I am not sure about the ones you have just posted, in Newcastle area.
