I got so confused that I had to reread the thread myself...
Neale kindly spells it out here:
https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=868256.msg7390384#msg7390384Sorry for jumping the gun and making the above posts. The info was almost too much and I had forgot the details of what Neale laid out earlier in thread...
-Alexander Joass 1722 the farmer of Burnside first married Mary Duncan 26/10/1755
- then she died
-He then married Helen Ross 23/04/1774
-At age 58 he had the son Walter in 1780.
-Above Walter 1780 is half-brother of Alexander Joass schoolmaster of Boyndie (Walter 24 years younger)
- Helen Ross is the mother of Walter 1780
-Mary Duncan (Alexander's first wife) is mother of Alexander 1756 schoolmaster.
Thanks again Neale for unwinding that complicated knot of history! I need to reread it every 6 months to keep it straight.
Douglas , if you come up with anything related that is interesting please share it.
