Robert Murray
« on: Thursday 03 November 22 11:52 GMT (UK) »
My late husband's cousin informed that Robert Murray was born in Cork Ireland.  My daughter has got the results of her DNA test and there is no connection to Ireland but a strong one to Scotland.
I do know that he and his wife (name unknown) were in Toxteth Park,  Liverpool in 1836 when their son David Charles Murray was born.
Have not found any trace of this couple so wonder if someone could point me in the right direction please
Many thanks

Did David Charles Murray remain in Liverpool?  Did he marry & if so - to whom

EDIT

Just found marriage in Liverpool 1874  to Elizabeth Gaster - widow.  His father is Robert occ mariner.  David was 38 occ ship steward

David Charles Murray's wife Eliza had children by her first marriage but only George Edward Ronald Murray with David.
The only record I have of Robert Murray is on David's marriage Certificate.
Not knowing where Robert originated from in Scotland  is making him hard to find.
So would appreciate help to point me in the right direction
Many thanks

George Edward Ronald Murray was b 1879 mmn shown as Gaster but should be Hindes

He married Rosetta Cooper 1900 Hackney

The biggest problem you have is that David Charles & his father Robert were mariners so may not have been ashore on census night.  Son George ER was baptised 29.2.1880 - David Charles is shown as a mariner

Where did you get that info as I cannot see any census entry or a baptism to support his birthplace being Liverpool?

Marriage cert shows father as George occ joiner - same as 1874 marriage to Murray.  1874 shows her as Elizabeth

1861 shows she was b Deptford Kent 1836
