James was still alive when Martha died.

Evening Express 10-1-1951

DUNCAN. - At the Royal Infirmary,
Aberdeen, on Jan. 8, 1951, Martha
Cruickshank, wife of James Duncan,
and relict of William Johnston, 530
Holburn Street. Funeral on Thurs.,
Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. (service 1.45), from
the house, 27 Marywell Street, to
Allenvale Cemetery. All friends respect-
fully invited.

Evening Express 15-1-1951:

DUNCAN. - Mr Duncan and Family
desire to return sincere thanks to all
friends and neighbours for their many
kind expressions of sympathy extended
to them (both personally and by letter)
in their recent sad bereavement; also
thanking the family doctor, doctor
and nursing staff, Ward 1, Forester-
hill, for their kind attention during
illness; and for floral tributes received.

Thank you for posting the obituaries! I am mentioned as grandson!
Might have found death record in S.P in 1952 in Inverurie..diabolical handwriting..
Have asked for assistance in deciphering...David

Well found.   Did you notice the correction to the entry which is mentioned above the top of the page - linking to a further page - which is also very difficult to make out

Thanks Kay, yes cost me quite a few 'credits' on S.P...worth it.
Noted the correction too, as you say just as bad to read.
Did see the informants name 'Finlay'...he had a son of that name from first marriage

Blimey thts my family too through Martha side my grandma is one of Martha's daughters Elizabeth wow I never knew Martha remarried until reading through this . And I thought Martha had two sons aswell their names was charles or Charlie and then Robert or Robbie.  And Elizabeth and George had a daughter called Hazel (which is my mum ) and baby and Edith moved down to Essex
