Thomas COX (b1873, bachelor, lacemaker, his father - Lawrence COX, framework knitter) married Sarah Ann HUFTON (19, spinster) on 28 Oct 1893 at Heanor. Her father - Joshua HUFTON, tailor.

They can be seen on the 1901 census at 65 Bridge St Long Eaton with children Lawrence (7) and Edith Maude (3)
RG13/3209/ 79 pg 46
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XSJG-ZRN

and in 1911 at Myrtle Ave New Sawley with children Lawrence (17), Edith Maude (13) and James (8 )

Not allowed to do 1939 lookups, but Thomas and Sarah Ann are at the same address in 1939.

James COX (b1875, bachelor, collier, his father Lawrence COX, fwk) married Catherine STRONG (19, spinster, father - John STRONG, coal merchant) on 22 DEc 1894 at Heanor.

They are in the 1901 at 44 Millstone Lane, Nottingham with father Lawrence COX
RG12/2663/76 pg 35.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XSNX-N3S

And in Mundy St Heanor in 1911, again with father Lawrence (now widowed)

Does Lawrence appear twice in 1901?

I have found another husband for
William Stradling Charlesworth
if that is right Mary Hannah Cox may have ended up in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio, USA. Hanven't found any proof this is right yet..???

Someone on ancestry has James Cox married to a Catharine Strong born abt 1876 Nottinghamshire, England. They have no documents on this though ???

:D Yes, those are the ones I cited in reply #2. As well as Thomas in 1873 whose mmn is WEIGHTMAN, but obviously meant to be WHITEMAN - Sarah Ann WHITEMAN couldn't sign her name on her marriage, so this is what the registrar heard.  ;)

The marriage of James COX and Catherine STRONG I gave you in reply #10.  ;) The 1901 and 1911 census has her born Nottingham.

I would think that Catherine is the daughter of John and Seran STRONG who appear on the 1891 census at Nottingham:
John STRONG    39     Nottingham (coal dealer)
Seran                  39
Harry (brother)    23    (coal miner)
William (son)         7
Catherine  (dau)   5

RG12/2700/30 pg8

So yes, born Nottingham. Basford registration district covered both Nottingham and Heanor, Derbyshire.

Modified to strike through - maybe not, just realised my maths is out and the age is too young!

Weightman appears to be the original spelling of Whiteman even my dad's dad in the GRO had the last name registered as Weightman  ;)
